Myrtle Beach State Park
October 23-26, 2017
After visiting our cousins in North Carolina, we continued our journey southward while veering toward the beaches of South Carolina. Our next destination was Myrtle Beach State Park, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. It's a lovely park, with a terrific campground. We highly recommend this location, as it's far nicer than any of the commercial campgrounds up and down the same road. The only downside, if any, is that this park is located at the end of the runway for a small commercial airport. We did get some airplane noise, but not so much that it really impacted our stay. The spacious campsites with plenty of trees and shade more than made up for this minor issue.
While there we also explored Myrtle Beach, proper, walking up and down the boardwalk and sampling the cuisine there. Overall, we had a lovely time and enjoyed the pure relaxation of walking on the beach, introducing Augie to the ocean for the first time, riding our bikes all around, and just generally goofing off.
